Here we hold a Monotype tournament where you can compete for fun with Pokemon of your favourite type!
This tournament will be ran on OR/AS and will start on April 3rd.
Need to practice, team-build, or get some breeding leftovers to help you prepare for the tournament? Post away! There's plenty of people around to help!

Registration forms are found in the ruleset pastebin (above) and must be filled out before the 27th of March. (One week earlier than originally planned)
Currently under discussion are changes to the ruleset, mostly pertaining to restricting more Pokemon including but not limited to: Mega Sableye, Mega Lopunny, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Metagross. Feel free to add any of your own suggestions for ruleset adjustments.

Things always pick up when it starts going full swing. Right now there isn't much for people to say, aside from looking for potential test partners. Definitely a good thing its getting pushed sooner, that way we wont need to try and keep the thread afloat for that much longer.

You might have a tougher time with Joaco. Those sets are pretty transparent and he would have defiantly taken them into consideration when building his team.

Volcarona is a better quiver dancer and you can get good mileage out of Galvantula if you want to run thunder wave of sticky web.

We've had over 50 before. It won't reach those numbers for this one, but there is hope for the Sun/Moon tourney.
Dark and Steel are both top tier in this meta.

Lots of strong coverage and versatile mons in Dark such as Greninja, Tyranitar, Hydreigon and Sableye. Wisp is especially powerful.
Steel has access to Klefki for easy screens allowing Mega Mawile, Aegislash and Mega Metagross to setup behind.
Each obviously have weaknesses, but these two generally cause more issues for other monos than they recieve

Generally things are pretty even across the board, most people go for favorites over the strongest types, but obviously some people are more drawn to stronger ones. You can bet weaker ones like grass and ice will have lower numbers though. >>25547365 has the current sign ups at the bottom of it.

That's fair. Whenever I'm using Aegi against the other people who use it often they read me like a book. I was trying to King's Shield your damage down to hopefully super-low amounts but I don't think I would have been OK. I should also think about putting Sneak on Aegi, but then if I don't get the kill with it I'm pretty much guaranteed to die that turn.
I also don't like Spritomb on my team, but I don't know what I want to replace it with as I don't like stalling with Sableye.
Why must organizing a team to check specific mons but also be well rounded in general be so nerve wracking.
I thought of the majority big threats but I still feel like there's something I'm going to forget and not cover then get fucked over by that.

You can't always cover everything. You'll have a max of 5-6 battles if you keep winning which is only a third of the total types. So don't worry about it too much.

I don't think its possible to totally prepare for everything. You just gotta cover as much as you can, and pray you don't come up against those huge problems. For every tweak you make to fight a problem for your team, it opens up a new weakness, one that might be more prevalent than another one. I dont think its so much a game of "what can i beat this with" but rather "what can i let beat me"

Have as many mega stones as you like. Can be great for a team and can also hold it back in some matchups. All up to how you plan it.

Yeah though I feel I'll always get shoved into a battle with my weakness and suffer greatly at the expense of not prepping for it. Example being the very first mono type tourny I ran ghosts and wanted to run trick room for the first time and wanted to see of using Mega Banette to set it up with prankster.
Then learning about 2days-1week before it started that it always has the worst priority it fucked me over along with not having anything to counter ageislash a big issue to my team that I didn't think of when I was more afraid of talonflame at the time along with megamom (which I can't remember if it was banned at the time or specific moves couldn't be used on it)
