I'm an employee for a certain business that will go unnamed. We assist the developers for certain things, and of course when this happens, I get new information.
I can also say that you won't be getting any real game play until E3, which debut the game's first gameplay trailer (with all the Pokemon in action).
Here's a few tidbits I wish to share. Since the game is being localized for many languages, I've been given news about the American version, which means I dont have to feed you guys Japanese garbage.

>Sun's exclusive starter is a Phoenix looking thing with a colorful plumage on it's head. It's a fairy type and is called Ixflare.
>Moon's exclusive starter is a Dark type called Impoar, a darkness pig of sorts. I asked GF if this means it has a disadvantage to Ixflare, and they told me that it turns into a Dark/Poison to balance it.

The reason I left out things such as trainers is because I wasn't given much info about them.
GF just sends you the information and you do your job, otherwise break the agreement plan. Since the area I'm working on is introducing the region + starters/box legends, I had limited knowledge. I can say that when they told me about the outfit feature, I was given these sort of thumbnails of the protagonists. Way too blurry to make it out though. Male is wearing a green shirt (?) and no hat, blue shorts. Female is wearing no hat, Dark blue shirt? and a red skirt. No rival was revealed to me.

I'm a contract worker at a big company that has been working closely with GameFreak and NINTENDO on the Pokemon Sun and Moon NA localization, and I also have information on the starters. The water starter is named Shakiray and is Water/Flying (first dual type since Bulbasaur) with an ability called Torrent in English. The other two starters are single typing. The Fire starter is a bear with a horn on its head. It's called Cubhorn. I asked GameFreak if it would be weak to Shakiray, but they haven't responded to my emails yet. The grass starter is a snake called Hisstree. It evolves into a Grass-type snake that is larger than the first stage.
I can't tell you much else because I do not have access to all the files, but I heard my boss asking about something called "Dolphun" that is apparently a Pokemon.
You won't find out more until E3. Thank you.
