After what happened with XY, I've been thinking about this as well. I'm not sure I'll really be able to hold out that long, but I think it would make the game a lot more fun during the initial play-through.
I remember when Ruby and Sapphire came out I was out of the loop until I saw the first commercial for the games on TV, and I was shitting bricks over it.
