Truly, Serperior is one of the most disappointing Pokemon ever in terms of wasting a top-tier design on a sub-mediocre battler.

Alright OP. I don't like the line because they were useless in their own gen. Until it got contrary it was just another mono-grass, which are all pretty much clones of each other and useless. I think the design is fine. As it stands now I think it is better, but a one-trick pony and no longer as relevant since it is not a starter.

you can bitch about the starters all you want but I liked this gen overall.
Favorite starter of this Gen actually. I really like how it conceptually becomes more snake like throughout its evolution.
The thing that made Pokemon popular in the first place is it's icon, and that has absolutley abysmal stats.

And I find it very good in competitive play, not only because of leaf storm contrary, it has excellent speed, decent bulk, access to glare, taunt, leech seed.
Glare/sub/seeds is godly.

At least it's pretty good in Gen 6 with Contrary Leaf Storm.
Servine, admittedly, just feels really forgettable. Hell sometimes I forget what Snivy's second evolution is at times, which doesn't really happen for most other starters. Doesn't look as graceful as the other members of it's evolution line either.
Wasen't good in Gen 5 sadly, and actually really sucks/just completely overshadowed by other choices in PSMD.
