My parents' marriage went to shit when I was in high school, DP was shit and I stopped playing Pokemon, felt like shit all the time. My uncle sent me a Best Buy gift card (to cheer me up), went and got Plat cuz it seemed way better than DP, and when there were loud as fuck arguments and shit breaking, I'd just put headphones on and blasted the music.
