First it was Black and White, and Black 2 White 2 was their attempt at the ORIGINAL Gold and Silver (Pokemon 2, look it up). Then they were like fuck it, and made X and Y their new Red and Blue (the logo colors, the genwun pandering, etc, etc). But nope, that shit bombed.
Now we're at the literal 20th anniversary of Genwun. Sun and Moon are going to be their THIRD attempt at striking gold like they did at the start of their franchise. Just look at the fact that the VC releases of RBGY can connect directly to Sun and Moon but not X and Y.

Gen 5 was an attempt to replicate Kanto.
Gen 6 might as have been the second Kanto remakes.
Gen 7 is found to have loads of pandering due to the anniversary and RBY compatibility.
THIS is the nature of the series called Pokemon. Gens 3 and 4 were only ones to not completely submit in some form to he Big K, and even they had to put up with remakes of it or its cuck.
