What kind of music does /vp/ listen to?
I know this board is like 95% autists so I assume you're the kind of people who like "anything but country and rap" but especially enjoy retro 80s music, techno, game tracks, and classical music

Country music is okay if you get the right shit, but I don't have a very clear idea of where the boundaries between country, pop, and rock are. I'm assuming shit like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FDcTyyXQb8 qualifies as country and not pop. If /mu/ has some kind of consensus on what is or isn't country it'd help. I don't like rap but there are some gems; I can enjoy that kind of bouncy early rap where everyone is energetic and it has a catchy beat instead of the generic autotuned shit I hear the niggers across the hall in my dorm blare 24/7. I haven't remotely delved into the genre though.I unironically enjoy those meme-y mashups of hardcore rap with super upbeat anime music.
I guess I like all that "autist" shit you mentioned too; '70s dadrock and jazz/big band are also pretty great.

New country is definitely bad. The line between pop and country at this point is undefinable. JUST listen to Jason Aldean.
Old west coast rap is good, some of the new rap is good as well, but it's real bass intensive and has a constant drill beat. If you want to delve into good new rap, I'd recommend To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar, considering he takes a lot from past music.

Country is my favorite genre but Skillet is my favorite band. I also like some Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Seether and a couple Three Days Grace, Link Park, Pop, Hip-Hop, ICP, and Simple Plan songs. Oh and some Eminem, mostly from his earlier days.

I like Power Metal, especially Dragonforce, Gamma Ray, and Sabaton. Regualr metal is cool too, especially Iron Maiden. I listen to some pop, usually cute girls. Favorites are Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and Shakira's older stuff (New Shakira is bad). 80's and 90's pop is good too, I like stuff with a lot of keyboard. I wish Keytars (those keyboard guitar things) never went out of style. Those are cool as hell.

Don't care for genres because I tend to dislike most of what's in any of them. Tend to go for stuff that's honest & that I find evocative in some way. Metal does it well slightly more often than others but so much of it is 'brutal'/'punky' utter garbage that I can't call myself a 'metalhead'
