Don't get me wrong, I like breeding competitive mons (put 400 hours into X, 300 hours of that was breeding) but it gets to a point where I want to play other things and I don't want to rely on lady lucky for another hundred hours.

I'll use Powersaves to get events that I missed, couldn't get or had legitimately but lost due to losing my save (like the shiny Beldum in ORAS) but I'll breed for everything else. I don't play competitive much so if I want to play it and don't have a team I'll play on showdown. I'm more of a collector than competitive and I actually enjoy breeding for abilities, IVs, egg moves, natures, everything. I feel like having something I worked for that can be used more efficiently makes my collection more special than something I randomly caught in the wild.

Pokémon is an rpg, a role-playing game. Whatever you do in the game is a part of your character's life, including breeding. Catching the Pokémon with good IVs, pairing them up, and hatching their offspring isn't rng. It's WORKING. Injectfags are just lazy casual fucks that don't want to put in the effort for the reward.

the breeding game, along with the hidden pokemon business are pretty fun ways to pass the time and make the world feel more alive and like you're actually going around and searching for pokemon. If I had my way, I'd half the random encounter rate and make sneaking a permanent addition.
I'm not going to lie and act like they AREN'T tedious as fuck or like I appreciate the games more because I want to go through that, though.

As a breeder I would not miss having to breed for IVs. It almost actively encourages injecting a 6IV Ditto because otherwise you have to chainbreed for hours on end just to get one with it.
I and the 5 boxes of Absol that I still haven't finished Wonder Trading off speak from experience.
