Probably because she almost fucked over the world by banking on a plan that only worked because the protag was there. I think people wouldve warmed up to her if she was in the main story.

Almost destroyed the world or fucked it up several times. Started the entire game by telling the villains who to almost destroy the world in order to make her god move. Would have literally destroyed the entire world several times if not for the MC saving the world for her retard plans. Never learned from this, instead the game treats it as she was the correct one all along and is better than everyone else. Goes around beating up your friends or other people in the plot because.

You can't prove the Alt. Dimension (AD) doesn't exist. Her people (the Draconids) "saw" the AD somehow and know of it's existence. Also she wasn't a little girl. She references a daughter about 80 times.

Actually it DID. The only problem was that she was unqualified for the job.
What she can, and should be blamed for however, is that she likely _knew that she was unqualified in the first place_. And while she may have found Devon's solution to be morally and ethically reprehensible, she probably should have let them do it because at least they had a definite success, even if it kills another universe.
Actually that's kinda fucked up now that I put it like that. I'm not even sure what _I_ would do in that instance

She was trying to fuck up the world so Rayquaza would be forced to save it, and then she would force Rayray to destroy a meteor for her.
Then it turns out Rayray never had the power to stop the ways she was fucking up the world in the first place, because he lost the power to mega-evolve long ago. And if not for the protagonist stopping the villains, the world really would have been wiped out.
Then she destroys humanities only hope to stop the meteor using science, because "Fuck you, only my god can stop the meteor, he just doesn't feel like doing it just yet. But if I destroy every other option he'll have to do it". She gives the excuse that "Maybe alternate worlds exist, and maybe this science shit we do will effect them somehow", even though she doesn't really know shit
Yet again, she just fucked world over, and Rayray on his own wouldn't have been able to do shit if not for protagonist giving Ray the power to mega-evolve.
Only for her story-arc to end on "Zinnia, you were so noble, you saved the world, you really were the best of us. Its time for you to rest, you've been fighting too long already". That's basically the last we saw of her, and all of her actions were apparently justice.

With that said, she's a fine character, like all Pokegirls her entire existence is nothing more than fapbait, that's it.
The japs did a good job of explaining why she's not like N.

Then why does Aster literally refer to Zinnia as her mum(british)/mama(japanese) at one point? For that matter, why is the Whismur referring to Zinnia as anything at all? I thought it was just a Pokemon named after some dead chick, not literally Aster's soul trapped in a Pokemon. Then there's the role suggested by >>25386457, that Aster was a Lorekeeper, which would make sense if it was some kind of role that was kept in the family. I think?
Honestly, I don't think there's an explanation. I don't think we're going to get one either, just like the Generation 6 ghost girls. My opinion on the matter is that even the writers at Game Freak don't know the full lore concerning Aster, Zinnia, AZ, Project AZOTH and so on - they simply sowed the seeds of some kind of 'deep backstory' so that fans could speculate on it for years to come

In her official 2D art, all you can tell is that she's got full breasts (but not giant) and an anime face. I don't know how you're deducing an age from that. Unless you get told the characters age, or they look like a loli/grandma, it's pretty hard to make estimates of a Pokemon character's age based solely on their appearance
I could definitely buy the fact that Zinnia was Aster's sister and simply raised her as a daughter, but that also doesn't explain the Whismur literally referring to Zinnia in anything other than regular Pokemon-speak. However you spin it, I don't think that Game Freak ever intended for there to be a clear answer to the Zinnia/Aster story - it was, as I see it, literally designed to provoke ambiguous lore discussions like the one in this very thread

The writer pretty much said exactly this, but did confirm that Zinnia's relationship to the original Aster is basically exactly what the manga is doing

This is what I got instead of a good postgame.
Aside from her actual plan being poorly thought-out (which others have already explained), her personality (you know, the character part of her character) seemed all over the place. It's like the writer had 5 different character concepts and decided Zinnia was every single one of them. The part that always sticks out to me is how when you enter battle with her she suddenly starts acting like a feral child or some shit even though none of her dialogue before that implied she was anything of the sort.
Riding MegaRayquaza was pretty neat and fighting Deoxys (which I unfortunately beat and failed to capture) but I thought she was okay.
