I dont remember if I even bothered with nicknames much in RBY or GSC, maybe here and there, and they probably were dumb too but no original cartridges to check, but, I was so impressed with Gen 3's graphical and mechanical improvements I was blown away as a little...what was I, like, 7-10 year old when RSE came out, that....no joke...I named my entire team, Swampert, and all the rest, plus all PC pokemon, KILLER in all caps, unironically
