So despite the fact that some pokemon are 50/50% on the gender ratio, or even 75/25%
Why are some pokemon portraited more as female or male, despite the fact that both exist or one gender is more predominant? Is it the fans fault? Game Freaks? Both?
If fans see a particular pokemon more in one light than other, could they get away with making it one gender exclusively? (Have they ever done that actually?)
>>25292228
For Eevee/Starters, I think it was because in GSC they wanted to make those Pokemon rarer and so only 1/8 would lay eggs of the same species.
You wouldnt happen to be talking about a certain gooey pokemon, would you?
>>25292237
Just pokemon in general, fellow anon.
>>25292228
There's nothing feminine about Medicham
>>25292255
Medicham to me looks like it could be either.
>>25292228
Gender dominant?
>>25292347
I'm talking about what's more prominant in the community, fanbase and such.
Even though Braixen, for example, is 75% male, most people always portray it as a she.
>>25292372
Braixen is actually 87.5% male.
Canonically, female starters don't exist anyway. They're all male, no exceptions.
Only autists care about gender other than breeding purpose, while I admit that I see certain Pokemon as male or female and try to get them on my team as so, I generally don't give a fuck. My female pangoro from my xy play through has helped a lot
>>25292228
Because while gender may be 50/50, that doesn't necessarily mean people favor each gender equally.
>>25292394
>Canonically
Canonically according to what?
>>25292394
Bull.
>>25292420Headcanonically :^)
>>25292372
I call, Braixen. a It, since it can be born male or a female.
>>25292420
That Delphox is noncanon.
>>25292228
Stop being a sexist faggot.
>>25292432
I find myself calling Braixen a she because that's just what I see when I see a Braixen, Pokken is not going to help that train of thought either considering what they did to it.
>>25292441
????????
What the fuck is the point of this thread/argument? Some people like to depict certain pokemon as a certain gender more often than the other gender.
Just because the ratio is 75/25 M/F doesn't mean females don't exist??
>>25292457
>Why are some pokemon portraited more as female or male, despite the fact that both exist or one gender is more predominant? Is it the fans fault? Game Freaks? Both?
>>25292467
????
It's not anyone's "fault", just a consequence of design and personal preference.
>>25292475
So both?
>>25292228
I have never seen Medicham as female nor will I ever see it as one.
The Snivy line and Fennekin line yeah, well Delphox not as much but never never Medicham.
>>25292503
And also Chikorita line.
>>25292456
>That detail on Garchomp
It makes me sad that we didn't get a console Pokemon game this gen.
>>25292413
This and completely this
Complaining about whether you or someone else likes blue or pink pixels is nonsense, just do what you want, faggots.
>>25292413
I think it's more to the fact that
people are used to sexual dimorphism in reality
and
certain pokemon are stated to posses mental and social skills comparable or even greater than humans.
combination of those leads to kind of uneasiness and breaking the immersion in game world.
Generally what was done to Nido line should had be done to all pokemon based on living objects, and in some degree to those based on inanimate.
>>25292372
Blame the anime for comforting their views.
>Starter gets assigned to Serena
>seen as cute
>automatically reffered as female
Because of it we're going to have Serena-Braixen with stats higher than Delphox the same way we got Ash-Greninja
>>25292570
sorry bud, megas are for last stage only
>>25292439
It's canon.
>>25292578
Says who
>>25292648
Muh Patterns
>>25292585
The starters are intended by gamefreak to be male only when they're distributed at the beginning of the game. That's canon.
>>25292843
>>25292902
There's a reason why they have a 87.5% chance to be male, and it's not for no reason. They're meant to be exclusively male, you just don't want to accept the truth.
>>25293029
So Chikorita is a fag?
>>25293029
If they were meant to be exclusively male, then wouldn't it be 100%?
>>25292843
then why arent they 100% male?
>>25293029
>They're meant to be exclusively male, you just don't want to accept the truth.
no, they are meant to be harder to get as female, because of breeding
>>25293095
Which is ironic since when they introduced breeding, they also put Ditto IN THE VERY SAME ROUTE as the Daycare. In other words, it makes no difference, you can mass breed the starters regardless of gender. I don't know if Ditto is available by the time you get to the Daycare of other regions.
>>25293029
Then shouldn't they be 100% male?
>>25293126
you would still a female one to breed eggmoves
>>25293051
>>25293084
>>25293128
It was probably an accident that they ended up with a 12.5% chance, and GF hates fixing mistakes. They're meant to be exclusively male however by design.
>>25293210
>6 Generations in
>>25293210
like they didnt fix the azuril gender ratio?
>>25293210
why did they give them egg moves?
>>25293210
>It was probably
>probably
See, you dont know even know yourself.
>>25293204
So? You ditto the male and keep going until you get a female. It makes no difference and probably IS faster than SRing for a female starter.
>>25293252
And yet they have an abnormally high chance for being male over female. It's clear that GF never wanted the starters to be female.
>>25292456
>that entrance into battle
Are all of the battle entrances and more importantly the battles themselves so well animated?
>>25292372
It looks like a girl and acts like one, so people generally refer to it as a girl.
Same thing applies to other feminine Pokemon.
>>25292228
Lockpin doesn't have palms like that why are his palms so lewd
We should just have Team Charm threads
>>25293483
>Team threesome threads
Anon this is a blueboard
