Despite all it's flaws, X/Y story was better than vanilla ass R/S story. The region also had more pokemon. And more interesting if not easier gym leaders. The biggest fault the game has is too many present pokemon and it's difficulty. I hope Z improves all of that.

I really wish you could at least use the battle backgrounds as online cosmetics, they're underutilized and immersive as hell.
That one with the alleyway in Lumiose is my personal favorite.

You can also catch Whirlipede in Poison Friend Safari, but you need to be friends with someone who has that combination.
It's also the only way to get Speed Boost Venipede.

The first quarter or so of the game is pretty nice, but after beating the second gym it goes downhill really fast.
The only parts I enjoyed in the late game were the routes between Laverre and Anistar, especially Mamoswine Road. One of the few times in the game I thought the atmosphere was on point.
