why hasn't Gamefreak made a game that includes all the obtainable pokemon yet? the romhacks show that it can be done but why can't the developers do this?

The game will have so much content, that the next game will be stupidly expensive to make, because it will have to have atleast an equal amount of content to not be disappointing. But if it did, people will be disappointed because 95% of the content will be the same content as the last game.

No it wouldn't. Pokemon is as profitable as any AAA title (more than 10 or even 20 millions sold per game, plus a fuckton of licensed merchandising), but with an extremely low budget. They could actually spend some real money making the games and they would still be fucking rich. Heck, imagine a Pokemon game with half the budget Rockstar or Square spends in their games.

Every pokemon in one game would be shit unless the region is as big skyrims one. Look at Kalos, 25 pokemons per routes and 450 mons in the regional dex when the it is smaller than others region is pretty dumb.
Also GF is a company, they're making money by not doing this and releasing remakes for that purpose.

Yeah, the true reason regions and postgame aren't significantly bigger since Gen III (13 years ago, m8) it's because they don't want to put redundant locations. Of course copypasting everything into a single game is retarded, but making regions much bigger and the story longer is entirely possible.
