Team for Blue
My problem with the Virtual Console releases is that I already have RBY and a Gameboy which I play every couple years. Just last year I did a fresh run of Red with my childhood dream team: Venusaur, Flareon, Primeape, Gengar, Farfetch'd, and Nidoking. I don't know what I could do differently for the VC release.

Nice mix OP. Primeape is one of my favorites; I remember picking Blue version and being sorely disappointed that I couldn't catch Primeape. A while later I traded a bunch of Yugioh/Pokemon cards for a Red version and made things right.

Oh, I had no shortage of kids to trade with. Unfortunately, I couldn't stand "boosted exp" and the prospect that my Pokemon wouldn't obey me. I didn't use any traded Pokemon til like gen 4. I wish I wasn't so weird and had cooperated more to get cool shit.

RBY is a tad underrated around here.
The battle speed is one of the fastest and the stupid glitches that were fixed in Gen 2 are fun to exploit.
The level design is utter shit most of the time, though. And fuck the Safari shit.
