I'm happy that we at least get to play as A Mewtwo, but this means that Shadow Mewtwo is nothing more than a secret boss. We won't get to play as a corrupted Mega Mewtwo X. I'm mildly disappointed.
Do we know what the normal Mewtwo's burst is? Because if it's Mega Mewtwo Y, it feels like an excuse to have both Mega Mewtwos in Pokken.

Mewtwo's Burst being Mega Y is very likely, though, possibly with its special Burst Attack being Psyshock.

You can still play as Shadow Mewtwo, either by using the Card to unlock it, or meeting its unlock requirements.
