For one, they are special - the colors, style, and buttons are different than ones you can buy separately. In addition, they come included with small collectible items that while not hugely valuable, would be nice considering it's the entire purpose of this set.

Actually, you get a single expensive bundle with two sets of shitty faceplates and both versions of the game for no real reason.
We get 3 cheap console bundles and two sets of faceplates on top of the two sets of Pokemon plates we already have (translucent Groudon & Kyogre and Pikachu)
