Jynx was part of the Oni Trio with Electabuzz and Magmar... Of course she's also the only one that got left behind when the others got a baby form AND a new evolution. Mr. Mime was his own thing.

The two are more counterparts then they've ever been, since they've both got baby forms, they've both got aspects of entertainers on opposing auditory thresholds (Noisy opera lady vs. silent mime), both duel-type psychics that can only be one gender...

Jynx didn't get an evo because of the controversy around its original design. It's a shame, a final form for it could be overpowered. It's already got some good Sp. Atk and decent speed.

Magmortar looks like it has the face of a scrapped Jynx evolution.
Mr. Mime is more of a duo with Sudowoodo. Both got babies that require an incense and evolve by learning Mimic.
