Sage has a slim chance of being good is the difference. If it ever gets finished. A lot of thought has gone into it but too much thought. It's been a textbook lesson in how to bog a project down in red tape since conception. It needs a single person to make executive decisions to get it wrapped up any time inside the next 12 years.
Clover is more like a runny shit that you couldn't hold and is dribbling down the leg of your shorts and while no-one wants to be the one to point it out to you, everyone knows you just shat yourself.

Except that's not the intention. Maybe it was for a few of our teammates, but not for me. And I've been there since the beginning.
We started Clover as 'Let's build a Pokédex in one night'. Of course it was shitty; we were trying to fill 151 spots in only a few hours. Part of that is the charm of the game.
And yes, Clover is meant to be a parody of 4chan as a whole. I know that conflicts with the goal of Sage to show that 4chan can be much more - but it's on you guys to put yourselves in the limelight.
Clover gets the attention it does because of what it is. Our people love working on the game because they're given a massive amount of creative freedom with little to no beaurocracy (Unless you're that one guy, but he's another story entirely.)
tldr; Clover and Sage are very different games. But you knew that already.
