What I truly dislike about ORAS isn't any of this.
It's that it took me completely out of the Pokémon universe.
So many lines in game that are direct references to the fan's desires, pop culture...
The sign in the Battle Resort literally says: "hey guys it's GameFreak, we know you wanted the Battle Frontier but fuck you".
The guy with his Flygon literally says: "alright haha, I know you guys really wanted a Mega Flygon so here's a Mega Stone. Haha got you it's for Garchomp, we're clever right? signed masuda btw do not steal".
And then some. And I don't even care about the BF and M-Flygon, it's just that they didn't have to tell us directly in game to fuck off.
It was more or less the same with XY and its NPCs spouting shit memes.
Sure there were the Game Freak employees in all the other games, but it's just one thing, confined into a single room in game.
Here it's fourth wall breaking all over the region.
Completely broke the magic.

That was probably the single most annoying thing for me. One of my favourite memories in Pokémon was getting XY at midnight launch and marathoning it overnight with friends, and actually finding megas we didn't already know about, even without intentionally avoiding the internet.

I was actually really surprised they didn't just give out a Symphonic Evolutions CD with it, like they did with Skyward Sword and Symphony Of The Goddess. It would have been so easy and people would have liked it.

The gimp difficulty is the thing that bothers me most, even with zero grinding and skipping trainers you still pretty much sweep every single encounter because you've got 20+ levels on everything
I think the new exp share caused it, the difficulty wasn't tweaked around the fact that people don't have a level 100 charizard and five level 8 pidgeys while beating the main game anymore

LOL nope, it has a rewritten story that finally fleshed out the characters and the region itself with many little fun details here and there, Also Secret Bases, DexNav, Soaring with so many legendaries and few other things makes the games great. They have flaws (like any other Pokemon games) but its still tons of fun

I actually remember Gen 5 challenging me. Gen 6 is the first gen where I could beat the entire game without a SINGLE pokemon KOing. I probably only went down to orange health maybe 10 times. I'm not even EV training.
I didn't even play gen 1-4 until after 5 and even those had challenging moments.

Same. I got back to Gen V later and was suprised by how much more difficult it is. My Pokémon were being KOed quite often, but it wasn't really frustrating, just challenging. I think it was the perfect balance, but maybe a bit hard for kids?
