I don't really actually care about your mother, and majority of Unova fans I've seen actually like Gen V for both it's story and literally everything else about it as well. If you've met Unova fans that say that ONLY the story made Gen V good though, then they're silly.
Also, I disagree that games are only about gameplay. Games can also tell stories while having good gameplay at the same time, which is what I think makes games interesting. Of course you can play games for just the gameplay as well if you want, but it's like how I don't read books just for how it's written.

But the problem is the only decent thing was the story. 90% of the 'mons were shit and you couldn't really get many old ones, the gameplay was pretty terrible, the game could've made the leap to full 3D graphics like gen VI but it decided, "no, we're not gonna improve the graphics, and to top it off, let's not even fix the battle mechanics either". Also it made gen VI look impossible with how easy it was. I literally got White done in under 20 hours and White 2 in about 30.

I have a lot of free time, and the games were pretty easy, so yes. I did beat them in a day, unless you count the Delta episode for ORAS, in which I took a month because I wasn't interested in it at all. I only bothered finishing it when I needed to tutor my pokemon from X.

I'm just disappointed with the models, since when they upgraded to 3D, you could say they had a bigger canvas. It just didn't live up to my expectations, since they had a lot of potential.
I'm not sure how long Unova actually is, since when I played it I spent lots of time backtracking here and there and just enjoying it. BW is probably quite fast, but I doubt BW2 is as short as you say.
Gen 4 games do take pretty long, since they have a slow engine though I didn't mind since I enjoyed them anyway.
