B-Bugs are a feature
>>
>>24918832
The bugs are what make those game so great. Metroixers series on it is great
>>
>level 100+ bugs
>everyone wanted 4th stage Pokégods
>can't even catch 'em all without another DS

That was disappointing.
>>
>>24918832
They should. Or else the Mew glitch will screw over their promotion.
>>
>>24918844
When they were as useful as the ones in gen 1 were?
Yeah kinda.
>>
>>24918852
Bullshit, people are going to buy this with or without the mew.
>>
>>24918860
>Nothing being able to stop the dreaded Psychic type
Since then Psychic-types have been nerfed to hell and back even to this day. Bug.
>Focus Energy doing the exact opposite of what it SHOULD be doing
Totally useless, and even detrimental. Also, they fixed this in the following generation. Bug.
>>
>>24918816

Who is that, and why should anybody care what he thinks?
>>
>>24918878
>Psychic types are weak to Ghost
Except they were immune due to a bug. Even then,

>Only two ghost moves in RBY
One does nodamage and the other does fixed damage.

>yfw they fix the mew glitch and missingno cloning items but nothing else
OR
>yfw they fix all game function glitches such as mew, experience underflow, missingno, etc, but leave all the glitched battle effects intact
>>
>>24918878
I'm talking about all the dupes and glitch pokemon/moves.
>>
What if they add newer moves to balance things out? Shadow Ball, X-Scissor, Sludge Bomb, Dragon Claw, Giga Drain and Brave Bird should give other types a chance.

Mew glitch (proper name is Trainer Fly glitch since Mew is just one obtainable Pokemon) is just the tip of the iceberg. You can use it to encounter Missingnos and use their item duplication property to get a stack of 255 items, which item menu procedures will treat as a cancel marker. You can then use it to glitch out the item menu, allowing free access to the entire game's memory adresses and potentially reprogramming the entire game from inside out.
>>
>>24918816
I bet he can't wait to spend more fucking money on the same fucking game he's already played 100 times and could play for free on his phone right now if he really cared. He's literally a shill or a moron I don't know, I'm not a Doctor.

Very long and with an actually autistic reader, but if you can stomach it, you'll see the game broken in almost every way imaginable and some brief explanations of how things work.
Short demonstration of how to do it:

>>
>>24921237
oh fuck he's programming by riding the bike around and doing menu inputs. that's hilarious. so you can do this on the cart?

He said curse would be on all gen 1 and 2 mons

Since it was a tm in gen 2

Yes.
>>
>>24918816
The genwunner mindset.
>>
>>24918816
Sounds like a guy so insecure he has to defend his childhood from change and future generations rather attack something because it's legit bad.

Pokemon was never "great" it was a nice concept with mediocre execution and that's never changed. The artwork and visuals might have improved but only at a state that's par at best.

Ken Sugimori and his crew, I like but shit acting like it was "great" back in the day is delusional. Most of the game's charm REGARDLESS OF GEN was protected by your childhood and nothing more.
>>
>catch em all
Isn't that gone because there are now more pokemon than the pc can hold?
>>24919988
I only heard of it on this board, I only found missingno
>>
>>24918816
Where is the lie?
>>
>>24922023
>Isn't that gone because there are now more pokemon than the pc can hold?
Nah, in newer gens the PC can expand based on how many of your boxes have Pokemon in them. It's reached the point where there's more than enough room for a living dex and then some.
>>
>>24922027
More importantly, where's the joke?
>>
You know what? I bet the genwunners like in OP don't even beat the game, or even buy it. Just repost on Facebook and talk about how great it supposedly was - le 90s nostalgia ebic rite guys. When it comes out they'll play it like 30 mins and stop assuming they buy it at all.
>>
Wasn't missingno just M on Blue? It's funny Red has won
>>
>>24922043
You know, the gameboy and gbc games are the only ones I've beaten. I haven't beaten any after
>>
>>24922049
It was M on both depending how you encountered it.
>>
>>24922055
I never saw M on Red but people told me M was there and I wanted to see it, they said it was more of a solid square. You mean other than the side of Seafoam?

Gotta catch 'em all! was retired sometime between Gen 2 & 3.
It didn't come back until a decade later, for Gen 6.
>>
>>24923786
It's also an American-invented tagline that's never existed in Japan.
>>
>>24918816
>No abilities
>No breeding
>No physical special split

Fuck I'll probably still buy it
>>
>>24923856
>English language slogan wasn't used in Japan
Fascinating. Tell us more obvious shit.
>>
>>24923991
The point was that there's never been any kind of slogan in Japan that even remotely suggested anything about "catching them all", retard.
>>
>>24923786
Probably gen 3 because you physically could not "catch 'em all" unless you had both copies of the game.
>>
>>24924007
was gen 3 your first game?
>>
>>24922061
depending on your name
>>
>>24924023
Yea. Not my fav tho. Gen II, IV, and VI are better.
>>
>>24923991
There are French, German, Spanish and Italian equivalents of that slogan. There's no Japanese equivalent because it was invented by American marketers and has never had anything to do with Japan.
>>
Gen 4 was best gen. First time GF actually attempted to balance the game.
>>
>>24923872
Does it really matter if you're not using the game to play competitive? I can easily play any gen the same as any other, and enjoy it the same, if it's just to play it. I doubt many will be able to play RBY competitively since it'll be local only.
>>
>>24922023
The current Gen's PC has 930 slots if you unlock all the boxes (you get most of them by putting Pokémon in all the boxes previous, and the 31st box is there to be unlocked when you catch Xerneas/Yveltal, because Game Freak made it 100% mandatory to catch them in XY and didn't want some chucklefuck filling up every box and making it possible to skip them/make the game unwinnable).
>>
>>24918832
There were hardly any bug types though
>>
I like this idea but there are so many things that should be fixed. Moves working the way they were intended, the use of hm moves being easier and the box having the move Pokemon options from gen ii.

I can see why some people might want it exactly as it was, most have forgotten how obnoxious a lot of it is now.
>>
>>24924658
Yeah not too many... Like 12?
>>
>>24924658
This, there were 12 out of 151. Compare with 22 Normal-types, 32 Water-types, and 33 Poison-types.
>>
>>24924683
Well its in the higher end of the lows
Compared to 3 ghost
3 dragons
5 ice types
8 fighting types
And 9 electric types
>>
>>24924700

1st. 33 Poison
2nd. 32 Water
3rd. 22 Normal
4th. 19 Flying
5th.14 Psychic
5th. 14 Grass
5th. 14 Ground
8th. 12 Bug
8th. 12 Fire
10th. 11 Rock
11th. 9 Electric
12th. 8 Fighting
13th. 5 Ice
14th. 3 Ghost
14th. 3 Dragon

Bug is actually in a nice middle sweet spot
>>
>>24924754
The problem is that 6 of those 12 bugs are early-game jokemon lines that not even the dumbest kid actually wanted on their team past the first gym.
>>
>>24925032
>6

Venonat didn't got Sleep Powder back then, or if it was able, it was in a very late level, every move it has is a joke. Venomoth could use somewhat Psychic and Mega Drain but you aren't going to use those TM in it.
Parasect is another jokemon, it Slash attack can't even crit consistently, and that's outright sad. It has Spore but being Bug / Grass and mid-game where everything uses Wing Attack and then later everything with Ember, Drill Peck or Sludge, it's not going to make anything.

Scyther and Pinsir have low Special, and the best move they have is fucking Slash. One of them is faster, and the other stronger, but if you're going to get an Slash abuser, use a Persian or just don't use Slash and get yourself either Snorlax or Tauros.

Bug-Type was a complete joke in Gen I.
>>
>>24925102
Venonat is never treated as a joke, though. The Caterpie/Weedle lines get the "weakest Pokemon ever" treatment all throughout the game.
>>
>>24924648
What happens if I hack all the boxes open and fill them up?
>>
>>24925758
I assume you can't progress in the game until you release something, since the game is programmed to not let you move on until you catch them. Gen V would let you skip catching Reshiram/Zekrom if you filled up every slot in your PC (assuming that's true and not just an urban legend I heard), but since Game Freak put in a countermeasure to make that unnecessary, I don't think there's coding made for the event of that countermeasure being broken. This isn't Gen 2 where they took the time to put in special code if you hack past New Bark and get in a battle without a Pokémon, Game Freak doesn't give much of a shit anymore.
>>
>>24925758
>>24925779
I actually think I'll test this out when I get the chance. I have an old backup from the PowerSaves days which is right before the Yveltal battle
