No the Gen itself, but usually Game Freak leave hints of future remakes:
FR/LG: The hints started on R/S. Many of them were: Bill thanked Lanette for developing a better Box System; the Oceanic Museum music is a remix of S.S. Anne music, it also has Kanto and Johto waters on the exhibition. (This time there weren't many hints)
HG/SS: The hints started on FR/LG. Many of the Fame Checker entries make references to things that happened on Gen II, such as Lance saying that he has a cousin that also trains Dragon-types, and a scientist saying that Giovanni's son having red hair; many of the Sevii Island music have remix of many Johto-only music. The hints also appears on D/P/Pt: On Valor Lakefront reception, a guard says he wants to visit Bell Tower and Whirlwind Islands; the colors of Pokeball logo on Pokemon Centers are golden and silver, the Park Pall have the same colors but the button has a blue color; Jasmine appears on Sunyshore City and she says a similar quote like the one after you beat her.
OR/AS: The hints started on B2/W2: The music of a mini-game on the Xtransceiver is very similar to Rustboro/Mauville/Mossdeep Cities; The fact that on B2/W2 emeralds were discovered was a reference to a game, Steven also is astonished about this; Route 22/23 music sounds like a R/S/E music. X/Y also have the "Ruby and Sapphire anniversary" thing.
