What was the point of Xerneas having a neutral and active mode? Yveltal didn't have this. It seems so misplaced and pointless.
I'm guessing it's related to all the supposedly cut content.

No the neutral mode is the Xerneas with blue horns
I think they should do this more often.
Typlosion for example having no fire in neutral mode and fire constantly in active mode(battles) would go a long way towards fixing him in 3D.
The neutral mode is the one to compliment Yveltal, but they needed a way to show how its ability to radiate life energy, and IMO looks a lot more plain without it. Yveltal already has a more complex design so there was no need to show it radiating death.

Xerneas is in 'neutral mode' when it's not battling. So, on the status screens and in Pokemon-Amie.
Considering that most players will only ever use it in battle, yeah.
