Hello, anons.
I'm trying to randomize my Pokemon X. I've dumped, extracted, all that fun stuff and I have my romfs and exe folders. The thing is, pk3ds doesn't seem to be recognizing the exe folder at all. Nothing happens when I open it as far as exe stuff goes and my ExeFS options are just greyed out.
I've read that the code.bin needs to be changed to .code.bin, but it doesn't recognize it whether I've changed it or not. I've also tried dragging the .code.bin onto pk3ds, and even tried dragging the whole exe folder onto it, but still nothing happens.
Anyone know what's up, or have any of you seen this before?

So I just got homebrew on my 3ds for the first time, and I was wondering what the easiest way to inject pokemon is. It seems like pkhex to make .pk6 and then putting them on your 3ds sdcard and using pkhex++ to inject them with homebrew is the easiest, but I just wanted to make sure before I wasted time or messed something up. So I tried to run pkhex++ on Y and it just stalled on a red screen, but works fine on my copy of Omega Ruby, is it oras only or something?
Why is removing the SD card such a pain in the ass on a N3DS? On the old 3DS there is a nice slot by the side where it should be. On the N3ds you have to unscrew the back plate every time you want to remove the SD card. This is getting old real fast.
Gonna stick with save data extraction on my old 3DS I think.

It was a mistake on my part, really. I was just using the wrong thing to extract my exefs (I was following some other stupid guide and using some retarded thing I can't remember when I should have just used ctrtools).
That .code file in the image should have been almost twice as big as it is, for example. I saw people saying that pk3ds would decompress it automatically, but I guess it didn't recognize the file to begin with.
So in other words, it's fucking nothing and I was just an idiot.

I have a 9.4 3DS version. I don't really care about homebrew or pirated games (I buy 2 games every year), and I'd like to upgrade my 3DS to play online with Ruby. I just want to be able to edit my savegame, but I read that after 9.5 I can't use the browser bug. What should I do? Is Powersaves my only choice? I'd buy it, but I don't really like the idea of placing a pokemon in the first box slot, selecting a code, starting the game again and placing a new pokemon in the first slot EVERY time.

10.3 will even get CFW at some point so you can get emuNANDs so you don't have to update you system(sysNAND) ever again, that way you can always play Pokemon online.

Re-download smealum's starter kit and start "eShop - old version downloader". After you download it just use the ironhax installer as usual. I can't test because I downloaded it when he first told us to.
Of course if you don't have any hax access right now, use browserhax which has also been brought back, see >>24898062 and be aware that as soon as Nintendo launches another version this is gonna stop working as well so seriously rush.

Forgot to put smea's tweet. Also menuhax is back, but absolutely get Ironfall and set up ironhax because Nintendo can't patch it permanently unless they patch the core exploit which they probably won't bother.
So when I run the browserhax and go to "eshop - old version" it locks me in the loading screen for an indefinite amount of time. Does it take half an hour to load or what? Because I've waited an hour and it never advances.
It tells me I need ninjahax too, is that right or is there another step I'm missing?

cartridges are encrypted uniquely (cannot be put on other cartridges) and digital saves are encrypted uniquely (cannot be put on other systems).
powersaves has never been able to transfer save files between unique-crypto games.

An encrypted file cannot be unlocked unless the end device can decrypt it since this decryption information is stored/generated by the original console (digital) or cartridge (physical). You cannot transfer encrypted content to another encrypted storage.
Anon was asking about decrypting THEIR save which originated from THEIR digital copy of the game. There's no way to obtain the decrypted save file without that console doing the legwork.
