Heliolisk already has an almost signature move with Parabolic Charge. And it's other abilities make usable in almost any weather conditions so forcing the mega to only have Solar Power would be a waste. I like the Stat spreads though.
Flash Fire would be more sensible. Give it fire moves.

We need a good flash fire pokemon to ballance heatran a bit. If a good poke could just switch on his plasma storms it would balance it a bit. Relying on flash fire rapidash to hypnotize the switch in isn't all too reliable.

but they still MAKE SENSE relative to their previous form. And mega evolution isn't the same as evolution. It's still the same Pokemon. Every Mega Evolution thus far has built upon the already existing theme of the Pokemon, not changing it to some random shit suddenly.

No it isn't. Piloswine is a boar with mammoth like traits. Mamoswine is a mammoth with boar like traits. And they both have the same typing. It's hardly a stretch. And on top of that it's a regular evolution. Mega Evolution isn't the same thing. It still has to be the same Pokemon.

it's not your fault dude. jurassic park has had a huge impact on popular understanding of dinosaurs. unfortunately jurassic park wasn't made with scientific accuracy in mind. they made velociraptors a lot larger for instance.
