I'm typically a grassfag but I can't stand Venusaur. Bulbasaur is alright and Ivysaur was a step in the right direction but I don't know what happened after that... Bayleef and Meganium are nice but Chikorita looks so abnormal.

Fire and water types did just fine against ekans and koffing and zubat. Hell buying that womderful magicarp before the cave helps a lot too.
