Couple of highlites.
Finished defeating the rockets at the radio tower. Made it through Ice Cave, critical hit my first encounter which was a Swinub, so no catch there. Taught my Feraligatr Ice Punch for the 8th gym and Clair. My Pidgeotto evolved into a Pigeot. Beat Clair with no losses. Cleared out Dragons Den and got the Dratini for my encounter.
Making my way to Victory Road now. Still no losses this run. Might go chuck a Master Ball at Suicide if I want to guarantee a smooth finish.

You can use anyone in Leaf Green or Fire Red, even in a Nuzlocke. For real, some of the easiest games in the series. My friend who has never played a Pokemon game before doing a nuzlocke of Fire Red beat the game with a Beedrill in their party. So just roll with whatever you want. If you want my two cents though.
Remove Butterfree or Beedrill, replace with a more versatile type. Spearow and Mankey are fine. Chared-melon will be fine as well. I assume you're around the first gym? Don't sweat too much either way.

Depends on how you want to handle it. When you get it, I'm pretty sure it says the location met is Cinnabar, but since it's handed to you, you could treat it like a gift, however you want to treat those. Would be a bit silly to miss out on a Mount Moon catch for a fossil you can't revive until close to the end of the game.

It should count as your Cinnabar pokemon. Since right now it's just an item.
And fossils are totally fine, especially considering the effort that goes into obtaining and training them.
(But personally, Aerodactyl is a better choice)
Started a randomised Heartgold run and I've just gotten the first.
Is there any trick to encountering Heracross in Silver? This bug is my white whale because no matter how much I search I can never locate it due to the randomization caused by the formula used with your trainer id. I've located Aipom, Spearow, and on their respective routes Pineco, and Exeggute which are all low encounters (excepting where Spearow is a high encounter which is b.s.) in the past.
This a fresh start after I got destroyed by Karen's Houndoom, truly a brutal loss after only having a couple deaths for that run. SO perhaps I won't have any difficulty in locating my bug this go, but has anyone had luck finding it? I'm aware of which routes it appears on but as I've stated never been successful in locating it without an extensive amount of time spent headbutting.

Well, it's helping. The descriptions are fun to decipher, but it makes progress slow because I don't want to just skip through text (which would also defeat the purpose of playing in spanish). One thing I didn't think about was the fact that the attacks are all named slightly differently. Encore is Otra Vez, which is basically the same, but different, etc. etc.

bold isn't terrible, you need the rock typing (and just pokemon in general desu). Get it to 25 evolves and you're set (I think burgh's leavanny is 26). There's audino in the castelia garden you can grind on. Evolve your eevee if you can. make sure to try and get your route 4 and desert resort catches because you can access that area before the gym battle
