For the dance episode it would be cool if they heard that the prize was an unknown keystone and Ash says that he'll definitely win it. Then Bonnie reminds him that he can't dance so Serena butts in ahead of Clemont who was about to suggest his new mark II dance machine and offers to help him win. Dance happens, they win and the ending shot is of the megastone which we will recognize as Zard Y's.
Alternatively the prize is a mega bracelet which is what prompts Alan to challenge Ash.

Actual, total beat deafness is rare. For the vast majority of people, even those who appear to be beat deaf, they can hold a steady beat on their own and can be taught to pick up a beat of a song if they listen to enough music in their spare time.
From there, even somebody with no dance moves of their own can be taught to waltz very easily, given that all of the moves are laid out with minimal improvisation.

voice acting standards are not nearly as high in the west, and it's especially hard to find good actors for children's merchandise anime.
here's the thing: you NEED to translate the dialogue. you DON'T need to translate music. but they replace it anyway because they're greedy fucks. i can understand replacing the karaoke intro songs, but the rest is completely unnecessary. and not only is the music bland and unfitting, they don't even try to time it to the action, and they play it fucking constantly, even when the scene was originally silent. it's a fucking whirlwind of shit, and as bad as the acting is i don't think it compares to the absolute clusterfuck that is the music.

it was better but it was never "good." the lines were still delivered awkwardly like 90% of anime dubs. it was just adequate, and most of the OST was there, although they still fucking dubbed the silent moments.
you're right, there's little need to change the script, but there is even less need to replace the music. as in there is none. it's purely financial, because they're too cheap to license the OST, and get royalties when other dubs use their soundtrack, like the spanish one.
the bad dialogue might kill some of the dialogue scenes, but the bad music kills all the scenes, especially the battles.

After getting Puni-chan to Terminus Cave, there is a hanging plot thread that is left afterwards because they probably have no clue what to do with Puni-chan next.
They probably have to meet up with Sycamore again, and since that won't happen immediately after the cave episode there is enough space for breather episodes while the plot is threaded again, which is obviously Alain finally meeting Ash.

Since the sketchbook time-traveled with Sammy the second time but not the first, the sketchbook Professor Oak has at the end is 80 years old.
This also means that now there are two versions of the sketchbook that exist in the past, the 80-year-old one that went back in time and the 40-year-old one that became the 80-year-old one.
This movie causes a causal loop and a grandfather paradox. Since Sammy went 40 years ahead in time with no certainty of getting back, an alternate timeline exists in which he never returned to his time to become Professor Oak as we know him. Even though he does succeed in going back, this makes Ash and Pikachu's pairing either a coincidence or intentional manipulation on Oak's part. In either case, there is a paradox in which Oak could not have conceived of giving Pikachu to Ash without having met them as a boy, and Ash could have never owned Pikachu if this didn't happen (unless it was a coincidence). In other words, Ash received Pikachu because Oak met him as a boy, went back to his time, and then 40 years later gave Ash a Pikachu with which to meet his younger self.
It should also be mentioned that by comparing Sammy's sketchbook to the Pokédex, which didn't exist 40 years into the past, Ash could've actually given Professor Oak the idea for its concept, which one day possibly led to its creation. If this is the case, it would mean that the idea for the Pokédex came out of nowhere, resulting in yet another time paradox.
