Because it's legitimately the worst in the franchise. The instrumentation selected was absolute shit, that ridiculous grinding noise that was present in half the battle themes absolutely ruined them. The minor legendary theme in particular was just atrocious.
Oh, and Iris' theme, which was absolute garbage and the worst battle theme in the series.
I actually like gen 5 and I enjoyed it more than 2 or 4 but I'm not going to gloss over its flaws just because of that.

While DPP music tried to be more orchestral and slow paced, BW tried a more retro approach I would say, which I find great.

man, fucking village bridge. i was in a tough time in my life when b/w came out. my parents divorced, i realized i was with a girl i didnt love, school fucked my shit sideways. my doctor put me on zoloft but i hated how i felt on them so i kinda just took them in phases.
id come home from school, slip under the covers, and just play that village bridge song with all the little guys playing their instruments.

Might be shilling blindly, but this doesn't sound like a champion theme because Alder isn't the final boss. N is. And N's theme is crazy intense. Alder is just an add-on challenge.
That said, still not a good theme. Didn't fit Alder at all. I forgive Gen V for this one flaw in its OST.

Thanks reminding me about my love for Lacunosa. Easily my favorite town/city in all of Pokemon. The music is just too good, the stuff they do with elevation is cool, the lore is great, and the city has a really nice aesthetic.

I know it's weird that that last one makes me want to cry, but some of my fondest memories are associated with that theme. I've been playing Pokemon since Gen III, but no game left such an impression on me than the Gen V games. BW's impact was something lasting, and BW2 felt like a triumphant return to a region that I absolutely love.

White's Opelucid isn't bad, but it doesn't particularly stand out in a region that also has the Village Bridge. Black's Opelucid has a unique sound and is just as beautiful as White's (more beautiful, IMHO, because it's using a danceable and fast-paced beat).
