It'd work better if it were for atmospheric effect more. So all pokemon in the region are obtainable at all times, but for certain pokemon the encounter goes up/down or/and their location changes due to migratory patterns. Also maybe special locations you can access during seasons, but nothing too over the top, just a reward for players who play consisently.
>>

That's what most people despise about it. I agree with for certain pokemon making it so the encounters are most likely or not, but that's it.

Munchlax has a 1% spawn rate, you can only look for it once every 6 hours, and he won't spawn in 17/21 of the trees (which are chosen when you start the game).

DP Munchlax is a real contender for hardest Pokemon to find. I think only Feebas in Platnium rivals it.
>>

It'll take you a few hours, but it's not even as many squares as RSE Feebas. Munchlax is definitely bullshit though.

wat

The RSE area has 400-something water tiles while Mt Coronet Lake has over 500. RSE also has six feebas tiles instead of Platnium's four.

Platnium Feebas is undeniably harder to find.

I wish they'd get rid of the weird programming of the Battle Tower and all of its spawns (including the entire Battle Frontier). Like, holy shit, it seriously shouldn't be the case where the same sequence of moves always have the exact same outcome.

Seasons (or, the implementation of them) were objectively the worst part of an otherwise OK/Good generation. Like, why limit something FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH?

And honestly, same goes for Day/Night splits. It's a great visual mechanic, but there's no reason to limit encounters as a result. It just fucks over people who can't play the game whenever they want.
>>

>And honestly, same goes for Day/Night splits. It's a great visual mechanic, but there's no reason to limit encounters as a result. It just fucks over people who can't play the game whenever they want.

A valid point for both. I think the better strategy would be to have day/night and seasons affect the chances of encountering a Pokemon rather than if you can encounter them at all.

As for the length of seasons, I honestly think it should be tied to irl seasons. If you don't block access to Pokemon seasonally then there's no reason seasons can't last longer, and running parallel to irl seasons would make the games more immersive.
>>
>>24862965
That fucking awful low HP music from gen 5. If it was good, then maybe, but it was so damn bad it's not even funny, and the fact that it interrupts all the other music is just wrong. I'm so glad they removed it for gen 6.

There were few, if any, season-exclusive Pokemon. Most of them would still spawn someone at a really, really low rate during the off-season.

It's the season-exclusive TMs that were frustrating.

>>

>It's the season-exclusive TMs that were frustrating.

Not a big tm user so I never knew those even existed, unless you're talking about the ones you can only reach in certain seasons.

Honestly I support obstacles that can only be completed in certain seasons so long as they don't harm the main story. A more open world experience would be enjoyable.

They should honestly bring seasons back, however with the ability to change the players active season via pokemon moves. surely there are pokemon that the player can catch that could manipulate weather/seasons. That'd give those who want seasons on their own what they want, and those who don't like them the option to essentially just ignore them without negative effects.
