Hi /vp/! Friendly /k/ommando here, seeking your wisdom.
Alright here's the deal.
I was trying to look at all the projects I've started but not finished, in the hopes of seeing them through. Then I remembered, I never actually caught all the pokemon and completed a dex as a child because I only had one gb and no friends who played.
So. I got into the hack rom game, but I get a few hours in only to find the games are.. unplayable really.
Here's what I'm looking for out of the hack:
all 700ish mons be catchable.
Increased difficulty doesnt matter as long as I dont have to spend a few hours fighting wild lvl4s just so I can beat the first gym.. (pure white im looking at you..)
some late game/after elite 4 challenges would be nice but not required.
Any recommendations friendos?

Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. It's shit, but it's the more convenient game for Pokedex completing.

You can catch all the pokemon in these?
I don't have a handheld so I'm forced to emulate, and thus, need all the mons in one game.
>>24829684
No, but all the pokemon barring events are available between ORAS and XY.

Ahh.
I may just have to wait until GO comes out or aquire a handheld but I really cant justify buying a 3ds just to catch 'em all right now.

>go
That's what you should do for even thinking about game. Go away.Try searching for Drayano, he has modified certain games, I think he modified OR/AS too. Not sure if he managed to make all the mons available. You would still need a 3DS and OR/AS tho.

about that game*

Honestly, I would recommend playing GS on a dual-boy simulator but you require a friend to play with and maybe that is your problem,
you want to finish something you haven't as a child - well, you haven't, as a child, required a friend to play pokemon with, who will help you finish catching them all (pokemon was designed to be a game which bonds between people), so finish doing that - acquire a pokemon loving irl friend, who you will get help from, to finish the pokedex. good luck.

Yeah I figured it will be shit but I want to catch 'em all.
But I don't think I need a handheld, I've patched versions of black/white with all the mons but the version of black I hacked was like 5 mons short and the white version was fucking retardedly hard to beat the first area and then there was a bug on the second route that rendered it unplayable so idk what to do at this point but I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

I live in a really small town where everyone drives lifted pickup trucks, drinks light beer and is in a relationship with their cousin. Not even embellishing. I'll be moving sometime in the first of the year so that will be an option then, but I'd like something to help me pass the time now and catching them all seems like the way to go. I can watch my shows and emulate on the side.

ALL the mons? Even the sixth gen?
I don't know man. I would still recommend going for the handled and trying Drayano's OR/AS. If not, I don't know how to help you there.
You can at least try going for all the mons on the fifth gen I guess.

I got about halfway through a 5th gen playthrough when I realized it was too easy but maybe ill just stick with that.. meh.
Thanks though.
Still open to other suggestions, hoping someone who plays alot of hackroms will come along and shed some light on this.
Which it seems like you guys aren't aware of hack roms and that is a shame.
Some of them are amazing with their own storylines/worldspaces/even new pokemon.

But again, the only thing that really concerns me is being able to catch them all. Nothing else matters lol.

>some of them are amazing
Not really. Most of them are shit because they go full retard with the stories. Or just insert shit fakemons. Some are interesting as far as mechanics go but that's it.
>>24829829
Yeah.. alot of them are.
But desu, most of the actual games storylines are pretty terrible as well because their target audience is twelve year olds. Doesnt mean they can't be enjoyable.
>>24829855
>desu
IDK why it put desu instead of desu, i've never used the term desu in my life.
>>24829862
wtf. To be honest gets transformed to desu?
