pokemon whose typing you used to/do occasionally forget
I tend to think pic related is ground for some reason when I'm not paying attention
Guess what I though he was weak to when I got back into pokemon a year ago.
I keep forgetting that the geodude line is part ground
>>24816974
>literally rocks
>part ground
this isn't your fault at all, anon
Used to think Caterpie and Metapod were Bug/Normal
I still forget that Clefable is a Fairy type and no longer a normal type every now and then. Same goes for Togepi line. Oddly I never get Granbull mixed up like this.
Sometimes I think Armaldo is Rock/Water instead of Rock/Bug. Doesn't help that it learns a couple of water moves by level up.
The first time I fought Winoa's Altaria years and years ago I thought it was Normal/Flying like Swablu, since I had caught a Swablu earlier but never bothered training it. I was surprised when my Pikachu's Thunderbolt wasn't supereffective.
I keep forgetting Azurill is a Normal type. It confuses me even more now that it's Normal/Fairy.
Thought Corphish and Crawdaunt were Water/Bug the first time I saw them, since where I live we call Lobsters "Bugs".
I thought Shellos was Water/Bug the first time I saw that one too.
Thought Axew line was Dragon/Steel for a short time because axes are made of metal and they have axes for faces.
>>24816972
Well since he's poison type, he is weak to ground
Scolipede, I think he's Steel/Bug for some dumb reason.
>>24817085
It's bait but I'll take it
>>24816972
will they ever explain why it's ground?
>its not bug/fighting
>its not bug/ground
>>24816961
I keep thinking it's bug/rock
Shiny Hippowdon's Gen 5 sprite made me think it was Ground/Dark. Of course, it doesn't help that around that time the CAP mons were used in PS's Randbat and they have an actual Ground/Dark (Collosoil).
I forget pic related is Psychic instead of Water type.
I also forget Skiddo/Gogoat aren't part Normal type because of the Sawsbuck line along with the amount of Normal dual types introduced in Gen 6
>>24816974
I keep forgetting that the Roggenrolla line *isn't* part ground
>>24816961
>damn what was it again? poison dragon? or posion dark? or dark dragon?
>>24819542
>control + F "bug"
What.
>>24819546
you need crtl+f for one and a half lines?
>>24816961
I used to think Luxray was Dark/Electric.
shame they aren't.
>>24816972
Rock
>>24817385
why would it be ground
>>24817894
same thing happens to me
also sometimes I think girafarig is dark instead of normal
I treat the Nidos like they're Poison/Dragon. Maybe it's because of their kaiju-tier movepool
>>24817894
>make a mono normal team in Showdown
>include Gogoat
>get laughed at
>>24816961
always thought it was steel type
>>24816961
Dear Rob
You're dumb.
Love chat.
>>24819542
this every damn time

OP brings up a good point about ground-types.
I feel like a lot of Ground-types could easily pass for normal-types. I get that a lot of them burrow but then what about things like say, marowak or this faggot: >>24816972
If you look at all of them then i'd say only maybe half of them are known for burrowing.
What makes them inherently ground? With Fighting-types you often get the martial artist or detailed musculature. Poison-types are generally based on poisonous creatures or waste, water-types are either all fully or semi-aquatic with few exceptions (swanna, keldeo and volcanion off the top of my head), etc. Is there a unifying trait for ground-types?
tl;dr : i used to forget what pokemon were ground and which weren't. I don't know what type I thought Nidoqueen and Nidoking were when I first started playing, for example, which was complicated by the fact that they evolve by moonstone.
