With Sceptile in alongside Blaizken, does anyone think Blastoise has a chance?
I hope not. What a waste that would be. I'd take literally any other water starter over Blastoise or Greninja.

blastoise has 0 chance of being in pokken
in fact, it has 0 chance of ever getting any attention ever again now that it has a mega. it's objectively the worst gen 1 starter and obviously the least popular.
I know blastoise is not the obvious choice for a water starter in pokken but I can see it happening. It probably won't happen but if it does I'd hope that it would play like Tierno's blastoise! Seriously imagine blastoise doing cartwheels and flips and shit while battling in pokken. It would be amazing!

Charizard is Charizard, it's the favored of the three Kanto starters, and can be in a game without the other two
The same could be said about Blaziken, but then they added Sceptile, so there's no reason not to put Swampert in too

I hate Samurott for the reasons you talked about, but i actually agree with that other anon that it would be a good fit for the game.
If you've noticed so far, realism (in pokemon terms) or even accuracy to its source isn't something that they favor in Pokken. As of yet, all movesets are actually pretty absurd and fantastical, like an ADHD ridden child constantly trying to out-power everyone else via retarded powers and ass-lasers. It's pretty much entirely wishful thinking.
If Samurott could get that sort of freedom to ignore that fighting with that body type is incredibly awkward and inefficient, and focuses on making ridiculous things instead, then it would be hilarious and interesting to see it in motion.
