As it stands, the game is most likely going to be released in Fall 2016, if it was any earlier before summer, it would have been announced by now
They'll probably announce it in Spring and release it sometime in October-November to wrap up the 20th anniversary celebration which begins with RBY releasing on VC in February
(Maybe the other games like GSC and RSE/FRLG will be released systematically throughout the year to build up to the new release)
