Now that VGC16 is available on Showdown, let us see some replays.
Other formats are welcome too.
Cherrim became one of my favorite Pokémon to use in this short amount of time. It lacks offensive pressure, but it's a great supporter and cleric.

You're a cool guy for using Cherrim. I like that we already see some unusual but effective choices to support the legendaries.

Can someone just make the vgc general again?
Bumping with another replay.

I thought I'd absolutely hate VGC16 but so far it's really enjoyable.

I'm hoping that the wide variety of Pokémon remains a thing past the first few weeks. I expected it to be just Rayquaza, Kyogre and Groudon, plus four of VGC15's top ten, but so far there seem to be a lot of fresh ideas.
I bred a Cherrim around 2 months ago or so.

Yeah I'm hoping the same thing all along. It'll be great if with all those OP shit out there we don't get a cancer core like CHALK to be the only way to play.

The rulesets have only been revealed a few days ago, so naturally, there's more diverse teams since everybody "trying" out their teams, much like how everybody assumed a few average introduced Pokemon were gonna be top tier in XY OU.
I have no hopes, and am pretty confident that something comparable to CHALK will be established in a month or two.

What are some good sets for Cherrim... I've been using:
Cherrim (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Flower Gift
Level: 50
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Grass Knot
- Leech Seed
- Heal Pulse
- Protect
for some alright results.

I've been using:
Cherrim @ Focus Sash
Ability: Flower Gift
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 SpA / 0 Spe
- Seed Bomb
- Helping Hand
- Healing Wish
- Worry Seed
I prefer the physical variant, since you get +50% Atk in sun and because Kyogre has too high SpD for my taste. Also hits Xerneas harder and doesn't care much for Geomancy boosts.

Just wait until the people that know how to play the game (aka the nips) get their hands on the format and they'll rapidly figure out another extremely strong and reliable core like CHALK.

>248/8
Don't do that.

That's one of the things that makes the legendary formats so good. Since they're legendaries, they're basically all good for competition, so there's quite a few good options for teams
