Dinossaur should be around since gen 1, it's an obvious pick, but now it's too late. They'd need to retcon and remove types of way too many pokemon for it to work.
Honestly, as sad as it is, we've reached the point where Spaceand Lightare probably the least retarded directions we can still go in. Best I could do otherwise would be something like:
Spirit/Life Type: Sort of a split off of psychic, centering around emotion, music, dance, hope, determination, etc.. Basically anything that a JRPG hero would channel for the final boss goes here.
