Conversion 2. Yes, there's a fucking Conversion (1), too.
>>
If it weren't for the DESTROY BERRY showderp mememon, I'd forget Incinerate exists.
Also there's a move called Aromatic Mist that raises an ally's Sp. Def by 1
>>
>>24788579
I just learned about Storm Throw yesterday.

There's a lot of now-useless Gen 1 moves I only remembered recently: Spike Cannon, Submission, Fissure to name a few.
>>
> Snatch
Who even use this
>>
>>24789222
I use your mothers snatch nightly
>>
Eerie Impulse
Ion Deluge
Synchronoise
>>
Synchronoise and Reflect Type
>>
Razor Wind.

I've never seen anyone use it, even though it's been around since the very beginning.
>>
I remember Synchronoise only because of how it does nothing when used by Umbreon.
Lots of signature moves are easy to forget about because only one line can use them, and they usually don't, so you never see them.

Quash gets a special mention for being the most forgettable TM.
>>
Thief
>>
Power swap
Rage powder
Follow me
Recycle
Blast burn
Smellingsalts
Acid armor
Telekinesis
Imprison
>>
Petal Blizzard
>>
>>24792390
I meant kinesis rather than telekinesis. Also twineedle
>>
Tombstony
>>
>>24792400
Twineedle kept beedril in my party till the second gym.
>>
Those weird terrain moves in Gen VI.
>>
>>24788579
I didn't know acid armor was a gen I move. I first saw it used by Cryogonal and Vanillish.
>>
>>24792406
Same, twineedle always stuck out to me because beedrill has been one of my bros since gen 1. It seemed forgettable to most others though
>>
>>24792401
>not Tombstoner
This man has never played Gen 1. Point and laugh.
>>
Pledge moves.
>>
>>24792406
>>24792430

I remember keeping Beedrill around in Generation I, for Sabrina, as Twineedle was basically the only damage-dealing Bug-type attack.

Too bad Beedrill is part Poison.
>>
I had forgotten Skull Bash and Sky Attack. They're both pretty shitty, and few Pokemon learn them.
>>
>Rototiller
>>
>>24789185
>>24792288
>>24792392
I never even heard of any of these moves.
>>
Spike Cannon
>>
>>24789204
Definitely Spike Cannon. I saw a Corsola use it in Mystery Dungeon and thought it was a new move I didn't recognize.
>>
>>24788579
Land's Wrath
>>
>>24792718
Same here, excluding Petal Blizzard. Only remembered that one because Lilligant learns it.
>>
Barrage.

Great signature move.
>>
Looking through just signature moves, I forgot Rolling Kick was a move. Spider Web too.

I don't know how I forgot Searing Shot though. I think Victini is the only legendary I consistently forget about on lists due to weird placement, even though I regularly talk about V-Create and use it in the TCG.
>>
>>24789204
How do you forget an OHKO?
>>
Glare. Not Leer. Not Mean Look. Glare.
>>

Man, I run a Simple Power Herb Bibarel with Skull Bash and Amnesia at times. Shit's fun.
>>
Tail Glow

and if not for fucking Manaphy it would have been totally forgotten forever

Rock Climb, being an HM in gen IV, I had completely forgotten about ever since until I read about HMs on bulbapedia

What the fuck is quash? I've literally never seen it used ever in games or player battles and I've played all gens except V

Also most signature moves if you don't actually spend time with the pokemon that learn them (and/or if they're useless status moves you usually replace)
>>
>>24794104
The pokemon you use it on moves last that turn. Only really useable in doubles/triples.
It was a TM that was introduced in Gen V.

The pledge moves. I don't think I've ever seen anybody try to use the combos of them.

I was more referring to moves like Snatch, Quash, Imprison, pledge moves, and redirection. They're some pretty important moves in either doubles/triples or both, Quash was obscure before ORAS though since Sableye didn't have it
>>
>>24795137
Fair enough, though I wouldn't even call those moves obscure even from a non-VGC player standpoint.
Maybe Quash and the redirection moves, but it is fairly easy to see how those could work in doubles/triples.

Snatch is still my favorite gen 3 move.
>>
>>24789222
I use it all the time on my M-Sableye. Wasting their set-up sweeper's turn as well as stealing their boost is just hilarious

>>24796244
Heh, why would you?
>>
>>24789222

People who want to see you to suffer as they crush your hopes of winning by denying you that Swords Dance or Dragon Dance boost and taking it for themselves.

I had a Banette Mega Evolve and use Snatch on my Mega Charizard-X... I never saw it coming. By the time I did, it was too late. Banette's sweep had already begun.
>>
>>24796394
Snatch does more than just stealing stat boosters.
Aromatherapy, Recover, Light Screen, Lunar Dance...
Basically everything that could boost you can be stolen. It's uncommon as well, so you can really catch things off-guard with it.

Of course if the opponent has none of these moves it is a wasted slot, use with a bit of caution.
>>
>>24796409

Oh, I had Lunar Dance happen to me once. I was like... "What?"

It's like using Me First and then

It won this year's final senior match at the Japanese VGC Nationals. A Rotom snatched an enemy's Trick Room and reverted it iirc

Well, Hitmontop sorta can't learn Double Kick.
So if you really, really want that multi-hitting Fighting move on Top, you're stuck with Triple Kick.

I bet Powder would be better known if it had a wider distribution than just Vivillon.
And at some point I still wanna try Electrode+Electivire with Ion Deluge. ID has priority and will turn Explosion into a STAB move that will boost Electivire's speed. Probably gimmicky as shit, but it might catch someone off guard.
