It's the best coice, unless you want to take the Gyarados route. Either way, it's easy to get rid of a Weavile, and you should have a way if you are running anything with 4x weakness to it.

It's Pokeaim's fault for not bringing a team with a solid Weavile switch-in. Same can be said about his ability to switch into Mega Medicham, Manaphy, Raikou, Kyurem-B, etc.

If that talonflame switches in on Weavile using any ice move, it's dead. It won't have time to use any move whatsoever. It's not even at full health either, but that wouldn't even save it anyway.
Here's a list of things you could have used against Weavile:
- Scizor
- Klefki
- Quagsire / Physically defensive Unaware Clefable
- Suicune, Alomomola and to a lesser extent Manaphy
- Keldeo, Azumarill
- Rotom-W (especially if it has Pain Split)
- Physically defensive MegaVenu
- Steel types that will survive a Low Kick
- Your own Gyarados and Talonflame (if it's a bulkier variant)
