News/Legal List/Set scans/etc
>http://pokebeach.com/

How to progress in PTCGO, tl;dr edition:
>complete all Trainer Challenges (Cheat Engine's speedhack strongly recommended to speed up AI games)
>unlock all locked cards in the three theme decks you're given at the start
>farm Versus Mode theme ladder for Tokens and Tournament Tickets
>enter theme tournaments with basic green and get both hitters prized
>enter standard/expanded ticket tournaments and accept that you'll lose
>you'll get tradable tournament chests and sometimes a tradable pack
>DON'T OPEN THEM
>use the Trade section to trade the packs and chests for the shit you need
>if you don't know what deck you want to build yet, see http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/forum/tcg-competitive-play.156/ for a list of viable decks or ask here

Your old cards are probably worthless.

To see what your PTCGO stuff is worth, look on the PTCGO forums in the trading section. For example, Top Cut Trading inc
>http://forums.pokemontcg.com/topic/25163-the-top-cut-trading-inc-2/

To get a general idea about what is strong in the Meta go there
http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/forum/metagame-deck-discussion.250/

Pack codes are worth about 15-30 cents while other codes are worth around a dollar or two.

Tips for Code Giveaways:
>Never post them as text, even if they're missing a letter/number
>Post them as an image with the QR code covered

If you're interested in working on /vp/'s custom TCG, find their general in the catalog and post there.

TotT: What do you think of BREAKPoint/Rage of the Broken Heavens so far?
>>
Old thread >>24761086
>>
God that Espeon looks like literal shit compared to the other Eeee card arts
>>
>>24782918

That's the problem of having different artists

>7 EXs (8 if Palkia EX and Golduck BREAK deck is included) from BREAKpoint are known so far
>4 BREAKs (All 5 if the above condition is met) have been known/revealed

So what other EXs do you think could be potential candidates? My gut is telling me Emboar and Togekiss EXs from the deck kit thing is going to be in
>>
>>24782966
Chatot-EX
>>
>>24782900
Any translation on that Vaporeon in particular?
>>
>>24783107
It's shit
>>
>>24783126
My dreams are now shattered.
>>
>>24783107
the only one you COULD play is jolteon because it has a shred attack + 0 retreat
>>
>>24782900
Wow all those arts look nice
Can't wait to get em in English.
>>
What could you use for Palkia-EX other than Primal Kyogre and Mega Gyarados? Combined with Manaphy-EX Water is getting a ton of support.
>>
>>24783140
Espeon has a really nice number for a shred attack and being psychic. 70 is 140 on Mew-EX and Sigilyph and 70+muscle band is 180 on Mewtwo-EX.
The first attack being colorless will likely be abused as fuck in Pyroar/Archeops Expanded.

>>24783198
Play it in expanded with Blastoise and Archie's.
>>
>>24783224
But what's the point if Keldo-EX is a better partner for Blastoise
>>
>>24783107
Vaporeon-EX – Water – HP180
Basic Pokemon
[W][C] Bubble Drain: 30 damage. Heal 30 damage from this Pokemon.
[W][W][C] Deep Squall: 130- damage. Does 130 damage minus 10 damage for each damage counter on this Pokemon.
Weakness: Grass (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

This is actually even worse than I thought. 3 fucking retreat and [W][C] for 30 with no decent effect.
>>
>>24783234
You can use both and accelerating 2 energy onto Palkia from hand means you can accelerate 2 extra water energies from your deck onto Keldeo, then rush it in next turn.

[W][W] for 40 and +2 energy is really good for earlygame. You basically have 3 Pokemon set up from that alone.

So, recently I came into the possession of a Shaymin EX card (lucky draw from a tin). Now, I collect Water type Pokemon in cards, and this recent acquisition has made me think about going into actually playing the game instead of just fucking around looking at the pretty pictures. What kind of deck could I make with any or all of the following cards I have?
>x2 Seismitoad EX
>Wailord EX
>M Blastoise EX
>All current Swampert, Milotic, Manaphy, Ludicolo, Huntail other cards

I know how to play the TCG, but I haven't played it competitively, so Ill assume I'm shit. Any tips?

lol
>>
>>24784345
Just want to know what I can start building. I know I'll need a bunch of duplicates and probably another Shaymin EX, but I've got some expensive parts already in my possession, so why the fuck not.
>>
>>24784327
How many Swamperts do you have? If you have at least 2 full evolution lines, you can try build a Seismitoad-Swampert deck, pretty easy to use and not so much expensive. If you like the item-lock type of deck, there's a lot of Seismitoad deck around more competitive, just google it and take a look. Also, be sure to take a full set of all the staples (VS Seeker, Juniper/Sycamore, Birch, Muscle Band and so on), they're the core of the game and you always gonna use it in every deck.
>>
>>24784623
Birch, no. Double colorless energy, yes.
>>
>>24784644
Yeah, DCE is obviously another staple, but so is Birch, maybe not a full set, but I usually run 1-2 copy of it in all the decks I play.
It would be a nice thing to list all the staples and add it in the pastebin, that would help new player a lot I think.
>>
>>24784654
Birch is trash and we should not be encouraging people to use it in either format.
>>
>>24784327
no point in stalling with wailord when you could deny items with seismitoad instead
M blastoise EX is shittier than any squirtle common card
that cards don't work together / at all
Seismitoad is good and so is the shaymin but you'd probably want two shaymin at the very least if you are running EX anyways.

>>24784660
birch is the second best draw supporter and you can only run four syca
>>
>>24784670
"Second best" doesn't mean "playable." Players shouldn't be taught "yeah sometimes your deck will be consistent but every time you get tails you'll probably lose. Truly a skilled tcg"
>>
>>24784660
>>24784670
>>24784685
Birch has one big advantage over Sycamore, which is that you don't discard. Since Lysandre's Trump Card is kill and mill decks are rising, I think it's a decent tradeoff to leave it up to chance since even if you only draw 4, you still didn't have to discard.
>>
>>24784725
Discarding cards isn't the end of the game if you run high counts of your most important cards. Besides, if shuffle draw is something you value, play Expanded or play Judge. At least Judge can disrupt your opponent.
>>
>>24784738
>hand 3 dce and 3 sycamore
>yeah this is no problem I'm running high card counts who needs shuffle supporters anyways
- you
birch draws 5.5 cards on average we don't have an oaks theory so this will have to work
>>
>>24784738
>Discarding cards isn't the end of the game if you run high counts of your most important cards

>>
>>24784623
Got two Swampert with the Growth trait. Got only a Marshtomp, but they are easy enough to find, same as Mudkip. Also got two Huntails, which I imagine could work for a deck that runs that Swampert?
>>
>>24784763
>>24784771
This is a shitty mindset. "Well I'll trade a small chance of bricking with Sycamore for a 50% chance of basically conceding to my opponent. Logic."

You Sycamore away too many important cards, hey that's rough but your game isn't necessarily over - you have seven new cards to work with. You flip tails on Birch and neg yourself so hard your opponent just laughs and proceeds to beat you.

Also deck bricking should be heavily minimized by running high counts of Shaymin (or Octillery) and Trainer's Mail, and even Acro Bike.

>>
>>24784864
Yes, being Judge'd down to four is an absolute nightmare, almost as bad as Hex Maniac, and potentially lethal turn one. But of course the opponent also has to be able to weather through the Judge so they're not just going to play it haphazardly.

>if you can't play on four cards your deck is not consistent
This is anecdotally and statistically wrong. Drawing into four cards without an established board position is an extremely dangerous scenario. You're essentially banking on drawing into a VS Seeker, Sycamore, Ultra Ball or Shaymin, which I'll grant you are all four-ofs in most decks (except Shaymin) but that's still a slim margin of recovery. And to put yourself in that position purposely, instead of just digging for your cards with Acro or Mail or Shaymin, is just dumb. At least if your opponent plays Judge it wasn't your fault.
>>
>>24784157

ime Puzzle – Trainer
Item

Choose 1:

– Look at the top 3 cards of your deck and put them back on top of your deck in any order you like.

– Choose 2 cards from your discard pile. Show them to your opponent and put them into your hand. You can only use this effect once per game.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

>yeah let's make meme march and toad even better because it can return 2 DCE now!!

Returning 2 cards isn't even the worst part it is, but you can also scry the top 3 cards of the deck if you only use the single effect for better Acro Bike plays too

Time Puzzle – Trainer
Item

You may play 2 Time Puzzle at the same time.

– If you played 1, look at the top 3 cards of your deck and put them back on top of your deck in any order you like.

– If you played 2, choose 2 cards from your discard pile. Show them to your opponent and put them into your hand.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).
>>
>>24793732
oh so if you drop two of them at once you get the second effect
do you also get the first or just the second for both trainer cards?
that seems almost okay
you'd run 3 because 2 fucks your game up when one is prized
the third would be ultraball fodder or whatever once you draw it
>>
>>24793772

>Do you also get the first or just the second for both trainer cards?

The latter, Time Puzzle basically worked like the Poke Blower/Drawer/Healer+ cards from DP Stormfront where playing 2 at the same time gives you a more powerfull effect. Either way I'd still run 4 since looking at the top 3 cards is still a powerful effect when you combine it with Acro Bike

Maxie attackers are shit. Gallade works because you can slap on a DCE and OHKO while using a broken ability. That Garchomp requires two energies to attack while having none of Gallade's versatility. Its first attack is just Landorus with more damage and only 10 more HP for some reason. If it had like 160 HP, it would be better. No retreat is alright though.

At best you'd do like 170 after band and stadium, which doesn't hit any notable non-weak EX kills since Yveltal and Lugia miss due to resistance and everything else has 180+. Anything else can OHKO non-EX because they're non-EX.

Maxie's can at least get on board first turn

Manectric Yeltal only runs like 6-8 dark energy. You would need to run 8 and have them all on board to even do 180, with a muscle band.

Even something like Memechamp has a decent 3-card combo way of inducing self-status. 4-card if you want to do it on the first turn. And machamp is still awful.

Using 2 bench, two stage 1's, a float stone, and 3 energies to deal 160 is really mediocre.

Once set up it'll be a rollover effect that you can use turn after turn while setting up whatever else to charge the other attack to brute force levels. Better than pairing with Malamar in this regard.

No Muscle Band means people will just use the new Basic-only tool that's coming out anyway if they can. Suppose the lack of it will encourage usage of other tools for non-Basics
>>
Now that we got special energies for every type do you think we will have new special energies in the next sets? Scramble Energy or Double Rainbow Energy would be welcome returns imo.

Also, where is the support for evolutions we were promised? Only support I saw was Fighting Spirit Belt which is a exclusive basic support.

I just pulled 3 Ampharos EX in a row and one was FA. what is this ptcgo?

Shop's unusually late this week.
That bundle should have been taken down last night.

Works for me.
Although I love a good bundle, I recognize a need for a update is so much more thanks to the last update's debacle.
The sooner we get faster animations the better.

What present will we get in PTCGO for Christmas? Some packs? Some shitty avatar items? Have they done anything in previous years?

Hey, I like my Santa hat.
It's proof that I've been around for a LONG time.

Do you not get how rare that is?!
Just wait for the week before the next pack, that is when the sometimes redo old bundles.

What deck are you trying to make?
Sure it is good, but what deck would NEED it?
>>
How much each pack/treasure chest is worth?

The new set is fucking horrible. All of the EXs are inferior to the ones we have now. None of the breaks will see play save Trevenant in meme Gengar decks. It added tons of luck-based disruption like Delinquent and Slowking, general bullshit like Garbodor and the belt, and an extremely situational item that acts as a mini Trump Card if you luck into two. All of the normal line of pokemon are not playable at all except Garchomp which is completely inferior to Gallade. At least breakthrough had some useful pokemon and decent trainers. At this rate the only worthwhile card that isn't pure annoyance will be Bodyguard Marowak.
>>
>>24794907
Hydreigon makes no sense here. I'd make room for float stone/switch. Cassius is another neat option for picking up a pokemon because you can save special energy. Alternatively, drop a few other cards to play 4 super scoop up to abuse Shaymin as well.

Why when I can be an annoying cunt with Delinquent?
>>
>>24798556

He is probably the same guy who ranted about BREAKthrough and spent time making that "poster" on why it is a terrible set
>>
>>24798563
Breakthrough is actually a really solid set. Much better than Primal Clash and XY at least.
>>
>>24798572
But Primal Clash had Gardevoir and M Gardevoir EX!
>>
>>24798580
Mewtwo is better than it by far, and you also have solid non-ex's like Raikou, Magnezone, Zoroark, Gallade (the best two cards in the set), and Empoleon, along with fringe things like Xerneas, Yveltal, Granbull, Seaking, and Houndoom. PC really only had Groudon, Medicham and Gardevoir. Swampert is alright but too hard to set up consistently.
