It'd be cool if Ledian had a Mega evolution where it gets some armor-like features, giving it a space soldier like theme that boosts its attack to non-shameful proportions as well as his defense and maybe speed. Also boost Comet Punch to the customary 25BP.
Even then it would be a weak Pokémon but at least usable in casual playthroughs.

Things that seperate from parental bond are that the first hit gains +1 priority and the second hit goes regular based on speed.
Also it's NOT a double hit. It uses the attack. So it gets priority Hyper Beam, and a Solarbeam that hits at regular speed because it charges at the beginning of the turn. Status moves also go twice (not sure if that is useful. Haven't checked that much)
