Magnet pull will allow it trap basically all the ou steel types and steelix's move pool and ridiculous defence allows it to almost ensure a Ko or at least heavy demage.
Eg fire fang x4 scizor and ferrothorn
Earthquake x4 heatran

Mega Houndoom's ability changes to Dark Aura. I don't give a fuck that it's supposed to be Yveltal's ability, I think it fits Houndoom just fine.
Mega Audino's ability becomes Wonder Skin. Now it's a pain the ass to give it status.
Mega Gallade's ability becomes Quick Feet. There, now paralysis won't necessarily stop its sweep so it has a niche and isn't just "Bad Medicham"since it isn't hosed as badly by Thundurus.
Mewtwo-X gets Defiant because Mewtwo is known for being rebellious, and I fucking hate Steadfast, that ability can go to hell.
One last thing, take 10 points of Specail Attack away from Mega Tyranitar and move it into Special Defense. Actually, can we do this to regular Tyranitar instead. Special Tyranitar is dumb.

Fuck, I hate idiots who want M-Steelix to have Magnet Pull. It would hardly help it at all. Scizor would just U-turn away. Skarmory would Roost off all the damage while setting up Spikes / SR and then would use Whirlwind to phaze Steelix away. Ferrothorn would deal massive indirect damage with Iron Barbs + Leech Seed + Protect and would most likely win against Steelix. Excadrill would hit with a powerful super effective STAB EQ before going down. Air Balloon and offensive variants of Heatran would just outright defeat Steelix while defensive variants would still deal colossal damage with Lava Plume and potentially cause a burn too. How would any of this make Steelix more viable? It's like some of you guys can't use your brain at all.
However, what WOULD help M-Steelix is a new Ability that automatically triggers Gravity (it would go well thematically with the gravitational field that the Mega has). Just think about it:

>100% accurate Stone Edge
>100% Iron Tail
It would also give Steelix a unique niche in VGC as an offensive support Pokemon. Steelix would actually be useful with this Ability, and it would also gain some new firepower since it could reliably run inaccurate high-power moves.

Give him another 20 to attack instead of Sp. Def, 145 makes him actually competive, sheer force instead of Sand Force makes sense as well, as is frankly more viable. Magnet Pull would make the most sense considering the actual magnetic field around him, but most steel types carry super effective ground or fighting moves, which would wreck his shit in 2 moves.
I still use him and love him.... but setting up sandstorm for him to survive is liquid bullshit.
