No. Golem is not supposed to be a very good Pokemon. He can Explode, and a lot of people have a shiny one. That's all Golem is for. Just be glad he looks cool, that's more than many Pokemon can ask for.

>How do you feel about its design?
It's design is badass, but I always found the evolution really weird. Goes from a rock creature with 4 arms to a lizard/dinosaur in a rockshell

>How do we make it better for battle?
It already has a niche in Automotize Sturdy Weakness Policy sweeping. And altough it's outclassed in doubles it got stuff like Wide Guard

How about a Mega that goes Ground/Fire and loses defense but gains speed?

HP: 80 -> 80
ATK: 120 -> 160
DEF: 130 -> 80
SP ATK: 55 -> 65
SP DEF: 65 -> 75
SPE: 45 -> 135
