What exactly is the point of the Regi trio?
I mean, the majority of legendaries have some kind of greater purpose, or at least a reason for existing, like the legendary beasts being 3 pokemon that died tragically but were revived. But the Regi trio is just kind of there. Regigigas fufilled its purpose of towing the continents, then just made them for no reason right before it went to rest, and then they just went to rest too.

They're simple but cool. Also the types being the "pure energy" trinity that are staples in JRPGs like Final Fantasy (Fire, Blizzard, Thunder). In gen 1 they were the strongest attackers of their type (Articuno had the strongest Blizzard, etc) and I liked that too.

Because they're just hanging out in caves and abandoned buildings. When you encounter Moltres, you can only wonder what compelled him to hang out deep in a cave despite being a fire bird. It added a sense of mystery to them.

I like these guys the most. Not a fan of birds, the beasts from Gen2 are decent, not a fan of golems in 3, I do not like the lake spirits in 4, and 6 didn't even have its own trio as far as I am aware.
