this might be just my headcanon, but i've always thought that the reason aerodactyl can't learn brave bird is because when it was roaming around millions of years ago there were no birds around and they only evolved later. meanwhile zubat, golbat, crobat evolved with birds and being able to breed with them, quickly got how to do the move. but aerodactyl can't into modernity, it's still a thing of the past, so it can't learn it via egg.
