Ice is good because it has a good matchup against flying, the most common monotype.
Having a good matchup against dragon is also great.

That doesn't make up for having a shitty matchup against every type that it's not SE against. It is, overall, the worst mono.
Thinking of building a grass monotype. Obviously Ludicolo and Cradily are necessities along with maybe Ferrothorn and M-Venusaur. What wlse should I put on the team? Right now flying scares me more than anything because of bravest birb and Togeskill. What else should I put on the team? Torterra to beat steels?

Breloom is also very good. Kind of helps against steel

Tangrowth. It is really a beast. I'm using a grass monotype with some friends in which I rotate my mons, and Tangrowth is really useful. It can be a physical wall, it can also run an assault vest set, has great utility in knock off, and works well as a pivot thanks to Regenerator.
I've used a spces infiltrator Whimsicott too, and works nice.
Oh, and Serperior. most of time with HP rock

Normal Mono is pretty fun. Diggersby, staraptor, lopunny are all very solid.
Poison was one of the most viable monotypes to run in gen 5 because it was full of bulky Pokemon with decent coverage. Gen 6 screwed them over because most offensive Mega Pokemon wallbreak through entire mono-poison teams like paper.

I will be playing it in 6vs6 battles , and i feel that outside Conkeldurr, is hard not to be will-o-wisp bait.

How do I make Lapras in doubles work?
Psychic is my favorite monotype. I like to lead with Wobuffet and lock my opponent into a non-threatening move since everyone likes to try and status it or get hazards up and crap like that. Then I either put up a Safeguard and switch to Gallade to booth, or switch to Espeon and bounce whatever status move they were using back and set up.
What do you guys think? Good team, complete crap? Honestly, I suck at battling, eternal 1300's-1400 on the ladder (best I ever did was 1700's, but that was a while ago), so I have no idea.
Sure is fun, though.

That Starmie set looks kinda weird. With no defensive investment, it's not gonna be using those lefties much. If you want a bulkier set, which might balance your team a bit, you might want to forgo some of your coverage for moves like Recover. If you just want plain HO, replace Scald for Hydro Pump (more power is worth it) and Lefties with a Life Orb. Right now, it looks like you're trying to straddle both sets, and I don't think Starmie's reaching the potential that it can.

Guts, man. It's an offensive mon's best friend. Heracross, Hariyama, and even Machamp are all solid members of the team if they're the dedicated status absorber. Poison Heal Breloom is another set that's pretty solid, but it hasn't really been seen since Gen IV.

My team came close to being mono-fairy on accident, just because Mega Mawile, Sylveon, and Azumarill are so good.

Monoghost was always a favorite of mine, especially from gen4 on when they began to actually make some varied ghost mons.
Monobug is nice too for the same reason - between gen 5 and 6 we got a number of good, useable bug mons.

I never said bravest bird was bad, I said it's not allowed friendo. It sort of invalidates bug teams, fighting teams, and grass teams. So Smogon said no Talonflame allowed in Monotype.
Any of you faggots wanna have a monotype battle on cart? 6v6 singles, no duplicate items. I haven't touched my Pokemon games in months but I still have my monotype team ready for battle.
