How does someone get into LC? I've been interested in trying it out but there's so many mon options out there it feels overwhelming to just dive into it.

Start out with pokemon you like, then over time make the team better by changing movesets or pokemon based on what isn't working well. That's what I did and I managed to get into 1500.
