There is now some form or way to devolve Pokemon. After devolution, the Pokemon retains moves from the before devolution. For example, a Trapinch will retain Boomburst from its time as a Vibrava. An Eevee will retain Thunderbolt from its time as a Jolteon and it can evolve into something like an Umbreon while retaining that move.
Now - how will this change things? Apart from Flareon being useful, what could happen?

Little Cup would probably become a whole different beast, but really only Pokemon with branched evolutions would benefit otherwise.
I actually looked at the Pokemon with branched evolutions, and I can't see anything that would actually change drastically. How does Flareon become good?

No, it's BST is the same a all the other Eevees, that part's fine. It just has one of the worst possible stat distributions for any possible Eevee.
It's slow, has no bulk, an is a mixed attacker. It's outclassed by Darmanitan most of the time. Movepool is a problem too, but moreso that they gave it terrible stat distribution.
Flareon would still be a bad Damanitan/Victini/Blaziken wannabe even if it learned V-Create, had Speed Boost, and had U-turn, Rock Slide, and Earthquake all at once.
