I mostly agree with you, but it's all about the demographics and the fanbases. Some are more cancerous than others, others are pretty chill and reminiscent of oldtime youtube days.
Still, as a successful channel, and especially one as large as GG, abandoning engagement is pretty much the final way to say you've sold out and are dead inside, doing it for the paycheck.
