Fusion and XYZ couldn't be more different.
Not needing a card or effect to trigger the summon, a limited number of times their effects can be activated, the fact they don't have levels, the fact their materials go to the Graveyard no matter what; it's probably the most technical summon.

Obelisk is like ALRIGHT. He has the effect "This card cannot be Targeted by card effects" which is pretty decent. But Ra and Slifer don't have that effect so they can get popped by just about anything in one second.
Plus their effects just aren't good. If, let's say, they had better effects more akin to what they were in the anime, then had their limit brought down to only one per deck instead of being able to have fucking 3 of each, then that would be pretty sick.

To be fair, I've only watched GX and 5Ds. I mean, I liked both, but they could not hold a candle to the MCs of original YGO. Kaiba/Pharaoh and hell even Joey are some of my favorite characters of all time.
But the characters from the other two series are somewhat likable, I like Yusei (hated all his friends though, so fucking awful) and I liked Jaden and Chazz, but they're all more or less stock character archtypes, not a lot to them.
In the Digital World saga in original YGO, learning about the Kaiba brother's back story was fucking unreal, not to mention Kaiba's rematch with Gozaburo.
Zexal looked like cancerous ass. Skipped that shit. That being said Galaxy-Eyes is my next favorite monster after Blue-Eyes.
Arc-V looks better than Zexal, or at least the characters look a little more conservative and less retarded.

A card manifested for real always just works. Bakura summoned Man Eater Bug and there was no delay for it coming out and Widespread Ruin was used as a nonsituational trap in Arc-V. By that logic Berserker Soul made real should simply work for any monster. If necessary, lower Quasar's attack until it applies. Metalmorph would realistically serve to just continue boosting attack power once a battle initiated since it hasn't ended unlike simply running over an opponent's monster.
Also, Fug has been shown capable of wrecking a meteor much bigger than it with one strike and according to science, he's can even fuck up the literal god of Pokemon. He should at least be able to put up a fight.

BEWD was originally the upper bound on how powerful a monster could be, pretty much. I didn't know anyone with Black Luster Soldier or anything else as powerful or more for a long time. In contrast, Charizard NEVER occupied that role. If you want to make some equivalence, Mewtwo is probably the closer one.

If these numbers in universe are meant to be a mathematical measurement for power, which they almost certainly are considering the distribution of all kinds of items that regulate them by an exact amount, anything close to 700 is approaching literal god tier. In this scenario he also has the perfect moveset to realistically be unbeatable by anything in Pokemon. With a held item that basically gives Contrary as a second ability and his moveset only powering him up each time he uses one, eventually Rayquaza would hilariously be capable of fucking up entire planets with Draco Meteor and an attack literally named Earthquake (a god level being only increasing in power is doing this).

And the TCG is still 100% irrelevant to the actual games. Charizard was far from the strongest in the games and still is. Charizard having such a powerful card that long ago was because it was fucking Charizard and was decided would sell the best. Charizard is just an iconic classic ultimate form of a starter Pokemon whereas Blue-Eyes was once hyped as the ultimate legendary beast both in the game and the show back when nothing could match him.
By the way, Blue-Eyes having its image backwards is irritating as fuck and Charizard's original Sugimori artwork would have done just fine.
