Depends on what you're looking for. Are you looking for more of a roguelike game with Pokemon elements tacked onto it? Or were you more into the sort of even amount of Pokemon and Mystery Dungeon that were in Blue and Time?
Super is way, way more of a traditional roguelike in gameplay than the others, so if that doesn't sound like something you're into, I wouldn't recommend it.

Not when all the Pokemon are basically cardboard.
Including them on the overworld and having the non-locals constantly switch around makes sense, but considering that every single one of them has maybe one or two lines of dialogue and none of them react to any of the plot events that go on, it really feels hard to believe that a sense of community exists. The NPCs that are native to Lively Town and Serene Village do react to stuff, but you spent too much time in Serene Village that you stop caring and you spend too little time in Lively Town to start caring. With all of those issues combined, it makes for a world that just doesn't draw you in the same way the others did.

No matter how many times I use it, I feel like the team is REALLY just Port Sarim the Froakie and KFC the Torchic.
I feel that the ones without a nickname are uncommitted to being part of the team because they don't have names.

This is true... The Emeras are kind of a slight power reset like you would find if you started a traditional roguelike, though it is still very much a Pokemon game.
Though, based on the difficulty of the main game, I think the ultimate dungeons will probably be very similar overall. It might even rival the difficulty of something like Stone Soup. (Depending on who you try to beat it with, of course.)

They pretty much removed the gender choice for NA version. You can just pretend they're Male/Female for everything but Pika since you can't have the heart tail chu. You and Partner never get referred to as boys or girls so you can fill in the blanks however you want

Different anon here but I think that's actually pretty accurate, and it's why I don't really like the Orb at all. I really don't feel like I'm making a personal, close-knit team or anything, and especially since the game constantly wants me to switch my teams out over and over, with the cooldown for high-levels and the motivated Pokemon and everything.
It just feels less close-knit and personal, you know? It's like completing a checklist of "Pokemon to make friends with" rather than actually wanting to make friends with them.

I used a couple Slumber and Petrify Orbs at the beginning to give ourselves a brief berth, and then I used a mix of Quick Attack and Gravelrocks to soften some of the enemies up. Then all you have to do is get in close once the enemies are thinned out a little and spam Alliances. Force Palm kept paralyzing the boss and Razor Shell just served as good pure damage.

I mean, the other games didn't mind if you put certain missions off in order to gather items or supplies, or get some extra rank points or stuff. Why does Super want to enforce all the bottlenecks?

Different anon, but that's a really weak argument. I get that the game expects the player to use items, wands and shit a lot more, but saying "oh are you underleveled and underequipped? use this other function which lets you do dungeons without the fuss" is a really poor gameplay decision.
It's like how in Rescue Team, if you just go with the flow and never put story missions off in order to get some levels, items and rank points, you'll most likely end up underleveled for Sky Tower and everything. How is that kind of difficulty curve even remotely acceptable for a straightforward JPRG story structure? Super has the same issue, except it doesn't even bother trying to have a difficulty curve since the difficulty is so RNG dependent (like most roguelikes, but that's also a problem).

Is there any real reason to nickname your partner? It really stands out because you can't nickname anyone else, so why would your partner randomly have a nickname?

I'm gonna guess you probably used the Motivated mon stuff pretty often. Or can you use the player and partner on Pelipper Island? The only times I've used it are to rescue myself in the Spirit Dunes.
My partner and I were both about Level 22-23 when I reached the final boss. It wasn't exactly super hard, but I worry about the fact that so many people seem to reach that point at that level or lower and are immediately told that they're underleveled. Super's difficulty curve (or lack thereof) is so... weird. Blah.
I just found out that in addition to using high level Pokemon, pokemon will just straight up randomly lock themselves out even if you don't use them. Fuck this new system.

Basically the connection orb gives you quests with Pokemon as a reward. Do one for them and they'll join you, and sometimes they'll bring friends too. You'll also find Pokemon randomly in dungeons that'll either heal or fight you. Talking to them in the overworld is another option, and they'll sometimes have you deliver mail.

RB's is kind of the standard, TDS remixes it and has a bit of a different beat/tune to it (it's not moving any faster or slower, but some of the instruments are paced differently, I like it), Gates remixes it again, and Super has three different variants.
Personally, I prefer TDS's the best, but Gates is pretty good too. I don't actually like any of Super's remixes of it, though.

What is so great about Chespin? I say this as somebody that got Chespin from the quiz as MC and I don't see the hype. Like almost every dungeon and boss has a favorable type match up against him. Don't tell me the other Pokemon are that bad. Pin Missile is a good move if they all hit, but usually 3/4 miss. He only gets strong when you add emeras like barrage(the best) and power boosters.
Just beat the final boss, and damnthis is the most depressing credit sequence I've seen in a LONG time.

I hope that if they make another game, they use a combination of the old recruit system and the new connect system. Make it so that you can use the connect system to get at least one of each Pokemon, but if you want more of that Mon you can still recruit from dungeons. And still implement the random missions outside of the connect ones so that players don't run out of missions to do.
